Kidnapped then released deep in the woods, Brandi is on a harrowing run for her life, hunted by beasts straight out of a horror movie. But there's an even bigger, more vicious creature in the woods - the deadly werewolf who saves her life. Jason is much more than a man, dangerous and intimidating, and Brandi still finds herself wanting every unbelievably sexy inch of him.
When he investigates the desperate screams near his secluded cabin, Jason's shocked to find his own kind hunting a human - but he ends up even more stunned when he accidentally triggers a mating heat in the beautifully lush woman he saved. Overwhelmed with lust, Jason takes her, bites her, binds her to him forever....
Now he just has to break the news to Brandi.

I finished this book a few days ago and i've been considering what to write in a review for a while. For starters, I'll say that this is not typically a genre I enjoy. However, since Laurann Dohner is involved (I'm a huge fan of her New Species series) I decided to give it a try. I have not read anything from Kelle Moon before. The non-spoiler review is that it was a good story that moved quickly. I liked the main characters as well as the peripheral characters who were written to leave you wanting to know so much more about them. The story was overly predictable (at least to me). Sometimes I think it must just be me because nearly every romance book I read follows the same formula - and I don't read that many of them! So, maybe I just have unrealistic expectations about wanting a book that doesn't follow a "script." Anyway, overall it was a good story and I will definitely check out the next in the series.
BEWARE - POSSIBLE SPOILERS!
As I mentioned above, I'm a HUGE fan of Laurann's New Species series. About 1/3 way through this book I found myself getting kind of ticked off because I felt that I was reading a New Species book where the characters had just been changed to werewolves. It's sometimes subtle, but I see a lot of parallels. What irritates me so much about this is that I, and a lot of other New Species fans, have been waiting a really long time for specific NS characters to be given their own book. Many feel jilted with the last book in that series "Numbers." Now with the release of this book I'm just feeling a bit slighted as a fan. Part of me is looking forward to another book in the Nightwind Series but another part of me is wary about becoming invested in another series.

Claimed Nightwind Pack Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Kele Moon Laurann Dohner Jessee Foudray Unbound Books Reviews
I bought this book because I'm a huge Laurann Dohner fan. I honestly had a hard time getting in to the book to begin with. Which is my fault since I was trying to differentiate between the two authors, and feeling like it wasn't exactly Laurann I was reading. Of course then it hit me that it isn't going to feel completely like a Laurann Dohner book. Once I put everything aside and read it like I would a new author I absolutely loved it and can't wait for the next in the series!!!! The hero was such an awesome blend of alpha and sweetness and the heroine was accepting and easy going. Of course I can't wait for one of the two alphas books!!!
This has a brutal beginning but goes way uphill from there. Brandi is so wonderfully feisty and has great comebacks, especially considering she is a plain ole human and has to hold own with a bunch of big bad ass wolves. But that's ok, she does and says stuff they don't expect. I love Jason. From the moment he sees her (and saves her from three murderous feral wolves) he wants to take care of her and then just plain wants her. You'll have to get the book to find out how it all ends but if you are into werewolves then you will love this. I would love to see the co-Alphas have a feisty human woman of their own since they both have been heartbroken. One who could handle them both. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the rest of this series. Enjoy! 😀
I reviewed my personal copy of this book for Wicked Reads.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a Laurann Dohner fan-girl. I’ve read nearly every one of her books and haven’t read one I didn’t give five stars to because I haven’t found one I wouldn’t read again. In fact, I’ve read the majority of them multiple times… including Claimed; yes, I’ve read it twice already. While I’m not at the same level of fan-girl for Kele Moon, I have read and loved several of her books, all contemporary romances, so she is certainly an author whose releases I keep an eye on. Because of this, I stalk… um, I mean, I follow both Dohner and Moon on Facebook via their author pages and their personal profiles so that I can keep up with news about what they’re working on. Needless to say, when I stumbled upon a post by Moon that she had basically kidnapped one of Dohner’s incomplete and discarded stories, insisting that it had to be shared with the world and that Dohner had told her that she [Moon] would have to finish it in order for that to happen, my stalking activities increased. Okay, okay, I might be exaggerating the contents of the post a bit, but not my stalking. As I said before, I’m a huge fan of Dohner’s writing because I love how she approaches the paranormal and sci-fi worlds she creates, but to have the promise of a new world with a new cast of characters, combined with what is, in essence, a collaborative effort between two talented romance and erotica authors… well, mind blown and stalker level 10 activities engaged. I had to have it. I had to read it. I had to have proof of what I already knew would be true – that I would love it. And I did.
Wasting no time, the authors drop us straight into the action as we join Brandi while she is running for her life, quite literally. While the hero, Jason, does indeed rescue her from a violent death, we come to learn that Brandi is no damsel in distress and she’s no shrinking violet. She is, however, a woman whose entire world has been flipped upside down because she had the misfortune of being kidnapped by men who were actually wolf shifters wanting to use her mutilated body to send a message to the Nightwind Pack – that they were being challenged for their territory. Fortunately for Brandi, her “hunters” had bad information about the movements of the pack and they “hunted” her in an area that did not allow their actions to remain hidden. Enter Jason who, despite being half-human (or perhaps because of it), has no real love for humans, but is outraged that a human female is being hunted, especially on pack lands. Unfortunately for Brandi’s kidnappers, Jason is a pack enforcer and has no problem taking on the trespassers, singlehandedly. What Jason does have a problem with is resisting the tempting female he’s saved, especially when his nose tells him the attraction isn’t one-sided. As any paranormal romance reader would expect, what follows is a short-lived mating dance as shifter instincts take over and Jason finds himself drawn to Brandi in a way he never expected to feel for anyone, let alone a human. What was unexpected (for me, at least) was the catalyst that led to the actual mating – that was a twist I don’t think I’ve encountered before and it certainly made the sexy fun times even hotter than I expected. And considering that both authors excel at writing erotic scenes, I had pretty high expectations. Of course, the mating is not the end of their problems – no matter how good it was – because Brandi still has psychotic wolf shifters after her, Jason has to deal with his alphas’ anger, and they have to figure out how to merge Brandi’s human life with Jason’s shifter life. And there’s lots and lots and lots of fun, laughs, action, and hot sex to be had along the way.
Oh yes, I absolutely loved Dohner and Moon’s collaborative efforts in bringing Claimed to their fans. Even being familiar with both author’s style of writing, I cannot point to what is Dohner’s versus what is Moon’s, which is exactly what you want when two much loved authors write together, a seamless story. Now, knowing what I do about Dohner’s writing habits (per her Facebook posts), I hope that Moon continues to kidnap those babies and nurture them until they’re ready to see the light of day because I need more stories from the Nightwind Pack. I need Desmon’s story. I need Jazz’s story. And I’m really jonesing for Miles’s story. But what I really, really need and am hoping for, is an update on Brandi and Jason as they build their life together. So ladies, please continue to collaborate on these books because Claimed has already secured its spot on my reread list and I need more Dohner & Moon books to keep it company.
